Support of local studies as a component of humanitarian studies policies of state authorities

Abstract: The article analyzes the work of state authorities of the Cherkasy region to support local history in the context of humanitarian policy implementation. It is noted that in order to support the local history movement and branches of the National Union of Local History of Ukraine, regional programs are adopted, a regional award for local history is established, scholarships for local historians are funded, the publication of local history literature is financed, and other measures are taken to support local history. Good traditions of honoring people who uselessly engage in local history and make a significant contribution to the cause of civic and patriotic education have developed in Cherkasy region. The names of famous researchers of the native region are assigned to streets and objects of social and cultural purpose. Local historians are among the honorary citizens of the cities and villages of Cherkasy region, awarded with state awards
