A tireless worker in the field of local history (To the 75thanniversary Gryhory Golysh)

Abstract: The article is dedicated to the famous local historian and educator, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor, director of the M. Maksymovich Scientific Library of the Cherkasy National University named after B. Khmelnytskyi, to the honored local historia nof Ukraine Gryhoriy Mykhailovych Golysh (on the occasion of the 75thanniversary of hisbirth). His multifaceted life activity, which is connected with the development of national education and the local history movement, is highlighted. Attention is focused on the analysis of his creative work in local history, which is represented both by separate publications (monographs, popular science books, reference literature), and numerous articles in scientific and media journals. The contribution of the local historian to monument creation work, museology is characterized, the directions of his organizational and public activities are revealed. Information about the jubilee's awards for his merits in educational activities and the local history movement is provided.
